Wisdom for my Children

1. Live in such a way that if anyone should speak badly of you, no one would believe it.

2. Never compare your journey with someone else's.  Your journey is YOUR journey, not a competition!  God has GREAT plans in store for YOU! (Jeremiah 29:11)  One of the dangers of comparing ourselves to others is that it can lead to jealousy and envy - two attitudes that are detestable in God's sight. (Romans 12:6)

3. Hold yourself to a standard of Grace, not perfection.

4. No amount of make-up or hair products can make you beautiful.  Beautiful comes from your heart and soul.

5. Don't call people names, Just Don't!  Like my mom always told me, "If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all."  Words DO hurt.

6. Never be afraid to laugh at yourself.

7. Never be afraid to apologize.  There will be times when you do something or say something you will regret.

8. Be Yourself, as the saying goes, "Everyone else is already taken."  There will be times when you wish you were more like someone or compare yourself to others, but remember you are unique and God made you perfectly.  It's okay to have some of the same interests as your friends, but don't copy them, have your own hobbies and be okay with it if they are better than you at something.  We all have our weaknesses and strengths.  Be Your OWN Person!!!  Embrace your differences.

9. It's okay not to know, but it's not okay to not try.

10. "Do onto others as you want them to do onto you." ~Matthew 7:12  Always treat other with kindness.

11. Respect yourself and your body.  You are not your own.  You were bought at a price, therefore, honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:20)

12. Give to others.  Give your time, give your knowledge, share your faith, share your wealth.  (Matthew 25: 31-46)

13. Be content with what you have.  Material things don't make you happy, material things don't give you love, and we sure can't take those things with us when our time on earth is over.  "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it." ~1 Timothy 6: 6-7

14. Know that it is okay to make mistakes.  Learn from them and become a better person because of the mishaps that you made.  Don't let them define you and don't make the same mistake over and over again.

15. Love yourself.  God LOVES you!  I LOVE you!  Daddy LOVES you!  Remember that nothing is too big for God.  When you become lost, follow Him, and He will always show you the way.  Life is precious!

"May you touch dragonflies and stars, dance with fairies and talk to the moon.  May you grow up with love and gracious hearts and always know how loved you are." ~unknown
