Oakley is FIVE!

Five....wow!!!  I just can't believe my little man is Five.  I am so proud of the young man he is growing into.  He melts my heart and no matter how big he gets, he will always be "my little man!"

~ Oakley loves to play sports!  He is playing football and baseball this fall and is loving both.  We ask him which one is his favorite and one day he will say one and then the next day he will say the other.  He finally told me the other day, "Momma, I think I like both the same!"

~He has the most tender heart.  He still loves to sit in my lap, cuddle and give me hugs and kisses!  Out of the blue he stop what he is doing and give give me or Jason a big hug and say "I love you."  I sure hope he never stops doing that!

~On a different note, he is so stubborn!  If he doesn't get his way it makes him so mad!!  If he doesn't want to eat something you better believe he is NOT going to eat it....even if it means going to bed hungry.

~He is probably my most picky eater, but he LOVES vegetables, fruit and anything sweet.  This boy has a major sweet tooth.  We have to hide any deserts or candy around here, if not he will eat it all!

~Oakley loves to spend time with his Daddy and wants to be just like him!  He loves to go with Daddy and Papaw on the farm.  He even wants to dress just like his Daddy and he would wear his boots ALL the time if he could!

~He is becoming much more independent these days.  He is now taking his own showers (which is a huge help), brushing his own teeth and fixing his hair.  Thankfully, he still lets me pick out his clothes most of the time!  LOL!

~He loves Music!  His favorite band is still Old Crow Medicine Show, but he also loves America.  He loves country music & "Rock n Roll!"

~He is such a fish when it comes to water!  Oakley took off swimming this year and never looked backed!  He has no fear and loves to jump of the diving board!

~Oakley loves his sisters!  He and Avery play really good together.  Don't get me wrong, they still have their fights but for the most part they are best friends.  He and Lakelyn play pretty good together too.  He still get's frustrated that she messes up his stuff and sometime looses his patience with her.  He does better with her when it is just two of them and Avery is not home.

~Super Hero's are his favorite!  He loves to dress up as them and will wear his costumes anywhere.  In fact, he went to Thunder Over Louisville this year as batman!

~Oakley's all time favorite movies are Star Wars.  He watches them every time he gets a chance!  His birthday party even had a Star Wars theme this year.

~He is starting to write really well and is doing a great job with his name.

~He is very shy in front of people, in public or at pre-school, but at home he is a wild child!  He must hold all of his energy in all day long and he has to let it out when he gets home!  And as much as he talks around here you would never believe he is a quite kid everywhere else.  

~Oakley loves to hang out with his friends and LOVES to stay the night or go over to Chaz's house.  Those two are two pea's in a pod!  They have so much fun together!

~As much as I hate to admit it, he is quite the lady's man.  He always has little girls hugging on him at school or the ballpark.  He even has a little girlfriend at pre-school.  Those two are apparently inseparable and he talks about her all the time at home.  He told Jason and I that they were going to get married and go to Wyoming on their honey moon to see the buffalo.  He also told Jason the other day that he couldn't wait to be an adult.  When Jason asked him why he said, "So I can kiss all the girls!" ....please pray for me during his teenage years or better yet, pray for him!!!  :)

~Oakley's favorite animal is the Buffalo.  He is almost obsessed with them.  Haha!  He has several toy buffalo's, a shirt with Buffalo's on it and he even has a real buffalo skull (thanks to my friend Becka!)  :)  As a side note, Becka's family use to raise Buffalo & that is how the buffalo skull came to be.  

Oakley is the most charming, handsome, sweetest little guy I know.  I am so thankful that God choose me to be his mom!  I pray that he grows up strong, loving, hard working & a man after God's own heart.  I pray for the choices he makes through out life, for the friends that he will have & has, and for the spouse that God is preparing for him.  I do know that if he is anything like his Daddy (and he is) he will be an amazing man!  Rock On baby boy!  Mommy Loves you!
