Kittens

Those of you that know me well, know that I am not a huge pet person. Those of you that know my son well, know that he is not a huge pet person and that is an understatement. Oaks HATES dogs (even little ones.) If a dog comes near him he usually takes off crying and screaming. The odd thing is that he has been around dogs his whole life...we even had a dog up until a few months ago. I asked him once why he didn't like River (my parents dog) and his response was "he has big teeth!" I am assuming this is why he doesn't like any dog. That being said he has recently found a pet that he really likes...kittens. My parents just adopted two baby kittens and Oakley loves them. He was a little leery at first, but now he loves to hold them, pet them and play with them. Of course we do have to watch him because sometimes he can get a little rough, but most the time he is really good with them. The other night at mom and dad's he had a blast playing with them and getting them to chase the stick he was holding. He would just cackle when the little kitten pounced on his stick. It was so cute and I just had to share these pictures!

I Love you to the Moon

Last week Jason and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary! I can't believe how fast 8 years can go by. I can't believe how much can change in 8 years too! We have gone from just the two of us to a family a five (or at lease we will be shortly.)Even though it has not always been easy it has been wonderful. I truly found my soul mate when I met Jason. He is a such a blessing to me and I thank God every day for pairing us together. I have a sign hung up in our bedroom that reads "Friends yesterday, lovers today, Soul mates Forever." I don't think I could describe us any better. I could not ask for a better husband or father to our children. I cannot imagine life without him. He is caring, loving, a hard worker, fun to be around, VERY good looking and my best friend!! Did I mention that he is HOT!! What can I say, I am pretty sure I married the best looking man on earth!! ;) Jason, these past 8 years have been breathtaking! I love you to the moon and I look forward to the rest of our lives together!

This picture was taking last summer, which made me realize we HAVE to take more pictures together!!!

Baby Update!

37 weeks! Things are going great and I still feel really good! Maybe a little more tired than normal, but other than that I feel great. My doctors appointment was last Thursday and everything looks good and is moving right along. I am dilated to two and 50% effaced. Yea!!!! :) I even lost 3 pounds this past week. I also lost weight at the end of my pregnancy with Oakley too. Now I guess all we have to do is wait...

Even thought I lost weight, I swear I look bigger than I did last week!!

Baby Update!

So I figure since I am going to the doctor weekly now I had to be better about getting my updates posted! :) Today I am 36 weeks!! My doctors appointment went really well except for the fact that I gained 3 pounds in ONE WEEK!! I about cried right there on the scale! I had been doing so well and then here at the end, when your weight gain should be slowing down, mine is picking up speed. Needless to say that was not what I wanted to hear, but oh well, I guess I can only hope next week will be better! I will just continue my walking and pray no one brings me anymore cakes...no more birthday cakes or baby shower cakes for me!! I am also getting heartburn almost nightly now and I am starting to get really, really, REALLY tired all the time. Today when I was getting my pedicure I almost fell asleep! I had almost forgot how exhausting the last few weeks can be, but for the most part I am still feeling really good! I must admit though, I am looking forward to becoming my smaller self again! :)

Ok...here is the part that may be TMI...so consider yourself warned!! The most exciting thing about my appointment today is that I am already 1 cm dilated! That means I only have 9 more to go!! However, don't go getting too excited and start thinking that I will go early. With both of my other pregnancies I started dilating about a month before and Avery was born on her due date and Oaks was a day late. But hey, the less I have to go once I get to the hospital is WONDERFUL! "Little bit" is also head down and ready go when the time comes!

As far as being tired, it probably hasn't helped that I have had a very sick little boy this past week as well. He has an ear infection, a stomach virus, and the start of pneumonia. Luckily we caught the pneumonia early so hopefully with a strong does of antibiotics it will clear right up. So for all my praying friends out there, if you wouldn't mind lifting little Oakley up in your prayers it would be greatly appreciated. He has been so pitiful this past week. Thankfully, the worst of the stomach bug seems to be over with and he has not had a fever in two days. Hopefully, he will be back to his old self soon!

Here I am in all my glory at 36 weeks!

A Double Surprise Baby Shower

I am so blessed to have such wonderful girlfriends! A few nights ago some of my friends got together and surprised myself and another good friends of mine, Heather, with a baby shower! They had me thinking that it was for Heather and Heather thought it was for me! We had such a good time and Heather and I both got lots of great stuff! Heather is due early Sept. and she looks amazing! She also has a little girl that is just a few months younger than Oakley. They are expecting a baby boy this time and I couldn't be more excited for them!!

Thanks Girls! You guys are the best and we really should get together more often! Not just for baby showers and birthdays!

All the girls and Lisa's little cutie Chaz! Too bad the chick taking our pic almost cut Pam and Chaz out completely.

Baby Update!

35 weeks!!!! Can you believe I am down to only having five weeks left?!?! Kind of sends me into a panic...I have a MILLION things to do before "little bit" decides to make an appearance!

As far as how I am feeling, I couldn't ask to feel any better. I am getting a little more tired and a little more uncomfortable, but honestly I have nothing to complain about. I have noticed my appetite has really pick up in the last little bit so I am working hard on my self control! I have worked too hard watching my weight these past 8 months to let it all slide now! I am also having LOTS of braxton hicks contractions...way more than I ever had with Avery or Oaks...and some of them are quite painful! Some of them are painful enough to jog my memory right back to when I was in labor with Avery or Oakley! My weekly doctor appointments started this past week as well and there is not much to report just yet. Dr. Nethers says everything looks great and my cervix has already thinned out! (Sorry if that is TMI for some of you, but I like knowing that my body is making progress in bringing another little miracle into this world.) My next appointment will be this coming Thursday.

Now for something a little different...my shadow at 35 weeks.

"I still remember when 30 was old..."

Well, here I am turning thirty. I honestly can't believe it. Not that it bothers me...it just seems impossible that I could already be this old. (Not that 30 is old, by any means!) It just seems like I should still be that 17 year old girl lusting after a boy named Jason! Now look at us...30 years old (well, Jason is 33), married for 8 years, two kids and one more on the way in a month. WOW...time flies!!

Here's to 30 wonderful years and to 30 more!

Here is a few pictures of how we spent my birthday...

Memorial Day Weekend

As always we go camping on my parents farm for Memorial Day weekend. As usual it rained, but we still had a great time. However, camping at 8 months pregnant is sure NOT for the faint at heart. I didn't take too many pictures, but here is a few of my favorite from the weekend.

Belly Pictures!

A few weeks ago my good friend Lisa took these belly pictures for me. I had so many great ones to choose from that it was so hard to pick just a few to post on here. Thanks Lisa, I absolutely LOVE them!!

Baby Update!

Now granted I am a little bit behind on my blogging...imagine that! This post is about my 32week check up, however I go to the doctor tomorrow for my 35 week check up. I don't have too much exciting to report on my 32 week check up except that Dr. Nether's did tell me that I am measuring a week early. Now for those of you that remember my past two pregnancies, you know that I don't have a record of having a baby even a day early! That means I have translated this to mean that one, either "little bit" is going to be a big baby or two, I am just getting fat...I have a feeling it is the later of the two! haha! I am still exercising most days and at this point still feel really good. Sleeping is harder and peeing is more frequent, but other than that I cannot complain! Oakley has begun to take notice of my growing and belly and every once in a while he will walk up to me, pat my belly, and say "your belly getting big Mama!" I am really looking forward to meeting "little bit" but I also feel like I have a million things to do before he/she gets here...like buy a bigger vehicle!! Below is a picture of me at 32 weeks! Thanks to my wonderful husband, Jason we got to take this picture before they cut all the hay. With a little coaching from myself I have to say he did a wonderful job taking this picture! My good friend Lisa did come by the other day and we took some more belly pictures as well. As soon as I finish editing them I will post a few...as always Lisa did an awesome job so it will be hard to pick which ones I want to post!

Avery's Preschool Graduation

A few weeks ago we attended Avery's preschool graduation! I can't believe I have a Kindergartner now!! How fast time flies! The graduation was so sweet and the teachers did such a wonderful job putting it on. Avery had a hard time adjusting to preschool when she first started, but now she loves it! It will be hard for her to leave all of her friend in August, but she is really looking forward to starting "big school."

Mother's Day

I had the most wonderful Mother's day this year. We were blessed to spend it with my Granny to celebrate her 80th birthday!! As a child growing up I loved weekends spent at Granny and Papa's. There always seemed to be an endless amount of things to do...or if you ask my Granny, endless amounts of trouble for me, my sister, and our cousin Jill to get into! But oh how I cherish all of my memories spent on Gosser Ridge. Thank you Granny and Papa for always making a trip to your house so special! It is also such a blessing to see my children just as excited to make the trip to Russell Springs to visit Granny and Papa! I am truly bless with a wonderful family...and not just Grandparents but aunts and uncles too!! We love you all so much!!

Avery stopped playing basketball with the boys to strike a pose!

My cousin Matthew and his girlfriend, Katie.

The next few pics are just a few of the things we do while visiting Granny and Papa....

Shoot Guns...not the most flattering picture of me, but it kind of cracks me up so I had to throw it in! Thanks to my sister, Katie for taking the pic!
Play on one of the many tractors...Oaks had his pick of colors to choose from!
A trip to the barn with Aunt Linda to feed the cats. I just love this picture!
Take pictures of my Granny's BEAUTIFUL peonies...I would just love a flowerbed full of these!
Play basketball
and Ride Bikes!

Jill, maybe one of these days we will be on Gosser Ridge at the same time!!!

My Little Gymnast

A few weeks ago Avery had her gymnastics performance. It is so amazing to watch these little kids and to see at what a young age they can already do. Avery has been taking gymnastics since she was two and LOVES it. The girls in the class she is in now have all become such good friends which makes it even more fun for her. She has really blown me away in what she has learned in the past year! The instructor's at Becca's Fliptown do such a wonderful job. She is on the mini team at the moment, which means they are training her to compete when she gets old enough. Right now we are taking the summer off, but she is already looking forward to starting up again in the fall. Sorry for the blur in the pictures, but during the performance you cannot use a flash.
