After the storm

We have had some crazy thunderstorms here lately with lots of lighting! I am not complaining though, because we sure need the rain.  Last week I ran outside and took this picture just in time to catch some of the lighting.  I wish I had my tripod set up for this, but there just wasn't enough time.

And in about 10 minutes this is what the sky looked liked.  BEAUTIFUL!

Project 52: Week 31

Little Fingers on Little Keys

The Marlette Family

Oh, how I loved photographing this family! Not only are they beautiful on the inside and out, but they are so much fun!  I honestly laughed so much while taken these and then again when I was editing them.  Zoe, the oldest daughter is also Avery's hero.  :)  They took gymnastics together and Zoe took right up with Avery despite the age difference.  I also took Aden's senior pictures this past weekend and can't wait to post some of them as well.

BFFs

Avery's good friend Mallory spent the weekend with us last week and the girls had a blast together. I told them if they dressed up we would go out and take some pictures of them together. They loved the idea, but didn't stay interested too long. They were ready to go play again! Anyhow, I think I got a few pretty cute ones! Angel, I think we may be in trouble with these two one day! HAHA!

Project 52: Week 30

Can't have a birthday party sleepover without lots of nail polish!

Avery's Half Birthday Party

Avery decided that she wanted to have a sleepover for her birthday party this year. They dressed-up, fixed their hair, painted their nails, and put on make-up and lots of fake tattoo's. The girls had a blast! I had a lot of fun too, but was super tired the next day! They all finally fell asleep around 2:00 am and were up by 7:00 am! I am sure they all went home and took a nap the next day. Avery and I did! Oh, and thanks to Timmy and Lisa for taking Oaks for the night so he didn't have to stick around with all these girls!

Eating cake after they had all raided Avery's closet and were dressed up!

Laklelyn loved the cake and hanging with all the big girls!

Megan was a pro!

Hope, Allie, Mallory, Megan, Avery, Kimber, Skyler, and Shiloh after the make-over!  They all wanted red lips!

Silly Faces!

I caught them outside the next morning doing cheer stunts!

July

It has been a super hot and very dry July this year.  The only way to stay cool is to stay inside, go swimming or play in the sprinkler!  We did decide to grow our first garden this year and have been having to water it almost every day!  However, regardless of the drought, we have LOTS of squash and tomato's!  Hopefully it won't be long and we will have some cucumbers and watermelon too!

This is how Lakelyn decided to stay cool one afternoon!

And after much praying it finally rained!  They kids were so excited that they ran out in it and started playing and singing "Thank you God for the rain, Thank you God for the rain!"

It was truly a beautiful rainy day!  When you live on a farm, rain during a drought is a HUGE blessing!

State Tournament

I am so proud of our South Hardin All-Stars, Pride! They played hard a couple of weekends ago in some very extreme heat.  It was almost unbearable it was so hot!!  They walked away with the title of State Tournament B Champions!  Way to play ball girls!
Trying to stay cool!

Avery playing second.

Way to hit the ball Avery!

Still smiling even after being stung by a bumblebee out on the field.  She is one tough girl!

Showing me their game faces!

Team talk after the game.

Lakleyn had to carry her chair out of the ballpark all by herself.  She would not let me help at all!
