One of the greatest things about my childhood is the friends that I was raised with. I was so blessed to have an amazing group of people that I grew up with...we call ourselves the creek kids. I am even more blessed that the same group of people are still a very important part of my life. Us "creek kids" go way back! The hard part is now that we are older we live all over the place and a few of them I am lucky to even see once a year. Rarely are we all together at the same time. Richard is in the military and lives in Washington state. We hardly ever see him and in fact I have only met his wife once and have never met his beautiful 2 year old little boy. However, he was able to come home a few weeks ago before he heads out on another 6 month tour to Iraq. I honestly don't know how Kandis (his wife) does it while Richard is gone. I could not imagine!! Luckily, while he was home my sister, Katie and best friend, Alison (another friend from my childhood) brought him by the house to meet little Miss Lakelyn. We had such a good time catching up and as always Alison and Richard had us laughing all evening! Not to mention, Avery and Oaks had a blast playing with them!!! Between Aunt Kat, Alison and Richard they kept the kiddo's completely entertained. When they left that evening I honestly cried! We have had so much fun together though out the years and I always hate to see our visits come to an end. You never know when you might get another evening with them.
Alison, I hope we don't go as long between visits this time! I love ya!!
Richard, Thank you for what you do for our country! May God be with you and protect you and bring you back home safe! We love you!
I'll see you both at the Creek!
